Top 5 Best and Worst:Tips for building a strong brand.

Best

  1. Have the Best Customer service.

  2. Treat Your Employees Right.

  3. Be Authentic in your Message.

  4. Planning, Scheduling, and Organization.

  5. Stand Out, Be Different.

Worst

  1. Having bad or mediocre customer service.

  2. "Boss Man Mentality" I know it all and my employees are here to serve me.

  3. Trying every new fad and fling to appear "in the know."

  4. Attempting a new ideas every week; waiting to see what sticks.

  5. Copying your Competitor.

Let's break that down a bit...

1. Nothing is worse for your brand than bad or mediocre customer service.

We all remember the saying, the customer is always right. While we all know that the customer is not always actually correct, the point of the experience is still to please them. Make every interaction with your brand a positive experience that your customer will remember. If you or someone on your team makes a mistake, do everything in your power to make it right. Go above and beyond. They won't forget.

2. Your Employees are the ones bringing in the customers and the money. Treat them like it.

When people feel respected and supported by their employers they are better ambassadors for your brand. One study found that happy employees are 20% more productive and a happy sales team generates an estimated 37% increase in sales. A few ways to treat your employees better include, paying them more; increased commissions, health care options, Christmas and birthday bonuses, as well as fun things like company lunches and parties.

3. Be Authentic in your message.

Your brand is inherently special because you created it. Don't try to make your message what you think people want to hear. Your message should always be what is true about your brand and the products you provide. People respond to authenticity and honesty. Say what you mean and mean what you say and your customers are sure to appreciate it.

4. Plan, Schedule, and Organize.

This is your optimal strategy for putting your best business foot forward. Plan out your strategy for this week, this month, and this year. Schedule posts, appointments, and reminders to help you stay on track and ahead of the game. Organize your calendar, desktop, and workflow. If you plan your own social media content, schedule it weeks in advance.  Start planning for large retail holidays months in advance. Help organize your employees to optimize potential.

5. Stand out and be different.

Although imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery, it's not a good business strategy.

You, your business, and your brand have something special to offer. Be your most authentic self and it will translate into genuine customer interactions.
